It may be a little too early for some, but we think it’s never too early to prepare your wardrobe for the coming season. Spring will, after all, have an entirely different weather and will require a completely different set of wardrobe.

So, have you started on your spring shopping?

Don’t forget to include some fresh scarves on your list. A girl can never have too many of them. Scarves are versatile and they can work magic to an outfit, so it’s a must to have them in your closet and to regularly update your collection. Buying new scarves each season isn’t exactly necessary, but a yearly edit may be advisable. Today, we’re going to give you a quick rundown on what essentials to grab to keep your scarf collection up-to-date for spring.

Check out the list below and see if your closet is missing anything:

1. Go Tribal

First off, be sure to grab a tribal print scarf. Why? Well, because tribal prints are going to be one of spring’s top stories. If you can’t handle wearing (tribal) prints on your clothes, you can at least try them in small doses through accessories. In terms of material, go with whatever your prefer. Just don’t grab something thick and heavy that is not suited for the warm weather.  Here’s a great option from Front Row Society that will easily do the trick:

2. Fashion Flowers

Spring is all about flowers in bloom so don’t forget to at least fashion a floral extra. Floral prints can come in many variations, but we here at Scarves & Wraps prefer the kind that’s feminine, sweet, and reminiscent of the countryside. This piece from David & Young would look awesome when paired with an off-white blouse and pastel-hued trousers. Try it and you just might not want to take it off.

If you fancy richer and brighter shades, try this floral piece from Lulu. This will look great with a classic tank or tee. It can also brighten up any look you’ll complement it with:

3. The Whispy Neutral

Yes, be sure not to forget the classic spring-and-summer staple — the whispy neutral scarf. It should be light and airy, and perfect for taking anywhere. This is going to be your go-to extra, especially when you’re in a hurry and you don’t have time to think of what print or color (of scarf) to throw on. It’s a classic. It’s basic. It’s timeless.

Usually, this type of scarf is sheer in material (can be linen, modal, cotton, viscose, or rayon), and features eyelash trim (or frayed raw edges) all around. It can be black, white, beige, grey, or brown, depending on which you prefer. Just remember to pick the color that suits majority of your wardrobe.

4. Dressy Sparkles

Just because the holiday season is over doesn’t mean you can no longer fashion a bit of sparkle. For dressier occasions or date nights, keep a special kind of scarf handy — one that is light enough for the weather, but sprinkled with a little bit of glam-drama. You can go with a sequined piece or something with a metallic sheen to it (like Lurex). Just be sure to wear it the right way (i.e. don’t make the mistake of pairing it with another sparkly item). 5. A Cover Up for Cold Spring Nights

For spring nights, a plane ride, or simply, if you’re in a room that is a little too cold for comfort, a good lightweight pashmina or cashmere wrap should come handy. We prefer solid colors for this one — one that is bright and hints of the season — but you can grab a printed piece if you prefer.

6. The Catchy Silk

Lastly, don’t forget to grab a silk scarf that is bold and statement making. You can use it as a neckerchief, a head wrap, or decorate your bag with it. Try black-and-white printed pieces that are stark and catchy. Here are some eye-popping options from Jonathan Adler and Echo.
