They say there’s nothing that Kate Moss can’t pull off, and we totally agree. The iconic supermodel channeled 70s glam with her outfit last Monday as she attended a party at Claridges Hotel.

The look was very retro, consisting of a Studio 54-esque long sequined dress, gold metallic sandals, and a shimmery seafoam green velvet cape.

Kate complemented the combination with a huge updo and catty metallic eye makeup. It was the kind of ensemble that could have turned into a disaster, but like a pro, Kate pulled it off with no issues.

Do you like Kate’s party outfit, or do you think it’s overdone? Do you think you can wear such a combination and get away with it? It’s a whole lot of shimmer and glimmer, but interestingly she doesn’t look bad. Would you agree?

Let’s forget about Kate’s ensemble for a moment and focus on her vintage-y velvet cape. Velvet, in general, is tricky to wear, and more so when it’s colored.

However, it can also lend a luxurious feel to a look, as well as add a unique texture. If worn right, and if you select the right velvet for the outfit, the extra can actually do wonders — much like the way a fur scarf can.

We’ve yet to get the details on Kate’s velvet green cape, but you can channel a little bit of her style with this perforated velvet scarf from Armani Collezioni.

Use it to dress up an LBD or an all-black outfit. It’s the perfect topper to carry with you when you’re on a date or attending a high-profile shindig.

Admittedly, it is also quite pricey at $545, so if you’re on a budget, what you can do is go with a more classic piece of velvet (no decorations), which you can DIY with a sewing machine and 2 yards of velvet fabric.

If you’re too busy to get crafty, here’s an $82 alternative from Donni Charm:
