Sometime around 2016, the pink and red combination was a hot red carpet trend.

Taylor Swift flaunted a toned midriff wearing a dress in the color combo at the 2016 Grammys. Zendaya walked her first fashion runway in a pink-and-red gown. Even Meryl Streep jumped on the bandwagon and donned a chic pink-and-red version of a priest’s robe.

Fast-forward to now in the year 2019 and it seems like pink with red is back in a big way. A handful of celebrities attended the 2019 Emmy Awards wearing ensembles that mix the two hues.

First in the pink-and-red line is Mandy Moore, who donned a custom Brandon Maxwell pink off-shoulder blouse paired with a red cummerbund skirt with a short train.

The 35-year-old actress completed her look with red-satin heels shown on the Brandon Maxwell Spring 2020 runway.

The sandals’ interesting features are two miniature combination locks attached to the double ankle straps.

Marisa Tomei also opted for combining pink with red in a Ralph & Russo Fall 2019 Couture one-shoulder gown.

Though she didn’t bare her armpit hair this time, the 54-year-old actress did flaunt lots of leg and her Barollo Italy silver pointy-toe pumps through her gown’s hip-high split.

Many are finding Marisa’s silver pumps to be too jarring against her gown.

Do you think she should have worn different shoes or at least a pair in either pink or red?

If you thought Marisa Tomei’s dress was too sheer, get a load of Taraji P. Henson‘s custom Vera Wang Collection pink-and-red dress.

The 49-year-old actress’s dress was so see-through that you could see the tan skirt lining she had to wear underneath.

The skirt certainly is distracting. However, the silver lining (pun intended) is that Taraji paired it to her tan-satin ankle-strap sandals that somehow tie her look together.

Susan Kelechi Watson was practically twinning with her This Is Us co-star, Mandy Moore.

The 38-year-old actress wore a Badgley Mischka Couture pink-and-red gown that also had the same pink off-shoulder sleeves. She also had on red-satin ankle-strap sandals that were very similar to Mandy’s.

The two co-stars were able to laugh about it, though, and shared pics of their twinning moment on their Instagram accounts.

Last but not least among our pink-and-red fans is actress and screenwriter Zoe Kazan.

The Big Sick star wore a Gucci gown with one pink and one red sleeve that come together in a ribbon at her waist.

Would you say this is the weirdest dress at the 2019 Emmys?
