Rachel Zoe was spotted at the spring 2015 Calvin Klein presentation on Thursday.

For the show, the stylist-at-large decked herself in an all-black attire consisting of a tiered maxi dress and matching black platform sandals.

To add a touch of flair to the seemingly colorless ensemble, Rachel topped the frock with a fringed cape.

The piece added a bit more story to her style, giving it depth and texture and making it much more interesting.

Gold-rimmed eyewear, a chunky gold collar necklace, and a printed black Givenchy clutch were among her finishing touches.

Prior to the show, the ultra-fashionable Zoe was also spotted outside her hotel.

She must have switched extras because she was carrying a black Hermes tote instead of the clutch, and her golden brown sunnies were nowhere in sight. Instead, she had on a pair of black peepers.

How do you like Rachel’s NYFW style? Do you approve?

If you look closely, her tiered maxi dress is actually more of a casual piece that can be worn during the day. It’s nothing dressy at all.

However, because it is black, it can pass off as one, especially since she dressed it up so nicely with a fringed topper.

While the frilly extra may seem a little flamboyant to some, we honestly find it fancy. It’s a lot like a fur scarf or a fur coat. Wearing one will add a dose of drama to your look.

We couldn’t find the details on Rachel’s fringed cape, but if you wish to take a cue, you can try glamming up your black maxi or simple all-black outfit with any of these fringed extras:

If you wish to work with a much lighter palette, you can try topping your outfit with any of these light-hued jackets instead. We even fancy the flossy pink number because you can also wear it with jeans:
