If you live in Chicago, then you must have seen the pop duo, Megan and Liz Mace, perform at the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival held at Pioneer Court last November. The fraternal twins were both bundled up in black coats and black beanies. What set them apart however, were the chunky infinity scarves around their necks. Megan wore black while Liz sported white.

So whose look (or which look) do you prefer? Black-on-black or white-on-black?
Both are obviously dressed in practically the same way, but we prefer the stark contrast the chunky white scarf presented on Liz’s all-black outfit. It looks a lot more interesting. In fact, any bright or light colored item set against a dark background will really pop and catch the eye. That’s why if you’re fond of dressing in black, a good way to keep it fresh is by using bright or light extras.
We don’t know where Liz scored her chunky scarf, but this piece from Paula Bianco is a great piece to try if you plan to channel the look:
This scarf is made of acrylic-wool mix, and features a loser type of knit for a bit more texture. It’s huge, but it’s also quite cozy — and definitely perfect for the cold weather. It is also priced well within reach at $85, so you won’t feel like someone robbed you of your money if you buy it.
