Maybe everyone is being too harsh on Miley Cyrus. Sure, her MTV VMAs performance was pretty scandalous — even by modern society’s standards, but if you seriously think about it, back in the 80s and even way before that, iconic stars like Madonna and Cher also raised more than a few eyebrows with their unusual outfits and daring performances.

Now speaking of Cher in particular, the legendary singer was spotted arriving at Ed Sullivan Theatre last week for an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.

And as expected, she graced the event in a rather odd outfit that involved a whole lot of leather plus yellow gold accouterments all over. And to make it even more interesting, Cher paired her look with a two-tone scarf in purple and pink. Coupled with her platinum blonde locks, you could say the singer painted quite a picture.

Ok, let’s not even bring up the age-appropriate-dressing issue here, because Cher is beyond that. She’s simply Cher and she can wear whatever she wants. And while we wish she employed a much better stylist for the occasion, she actually didn’t look so bad. In fact, as much as we hate to admit it, we are secretly crushing on that jacket.

Yes, she should have left the skirt and gold-coin belt at home, but the jacket definitely had potential. Plus, at least she made an effort to add a pop of color into the all-black outfit. We actually like how the purple-pink scarf brightened up her face.

Like printed scarves, two-tone ones are just as catchy. They draw attention and provide depth, dimension, and drama to keep an outfit from looking bland. If you are toying with the idea of sporting a similar extra this season, you can try these dip dye and printed options we found.
